The conference was aimed at bridging and strengthening the relationship between Taiwan and Stanford University. Four Stanford professors including Prof. Cutis Frank (former associated dean of College of Engineering), Prof. Alexander Dunn, Prof. Cargnelloand Prof. Hongjie Dai (Member of National Academy of Science (2016)) were invited to give inspiring lectures in this conference. Several outstanding scholars from Taiwan also participate in this event. Most importantly, a “Young Scientist Forum” by inviting students including undergraduates, master and PhD students was held. Students at this forum were able to give oral presentations on their current research results. Professors from Stanford University were very impressed with the outstanding performance of students also with their fluent English. The conference provided a great opportunity for students to have direct interaction with Stanford professors, which will be important for future collaboration between Taiwan and Stanford University. NTU-MST was glad to be the organizer of this conference and would like to establish the platform to promote the future collaboration between Taiwan and Stanford University.
