The 3rd ACT, following its predecessors in Wuhan (China) and Kyoto (Japan), was aimed to provide a platform for researchers interested in various topics of thermoelectric materials to exchange their latest works and MNHTE2018 covered the frontier topics of heat/energy transfer phenomena of novel materials by advanced tools or novel methods. In this ACT3 & MNHTE2018, we had half-a-day summer school with four lectures on 7th October and followed by the two-day conference with parallel sessions. More than 160 delegates from different Asian countries including China, India, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam attended the conference. The plenary talks were given by Prof. Vinayak P. Dravid, Northwestern University, USA and Prof. Masahiro Nomura, The University of Tokyo, Japan. The speakers enlightened the gathering with their presentations which were highly informative and inspiring. The conference provided an excellent opportunity for young researchers to have direct interaction with eminent professors in the field of thermoelectrics as well as heat transfer, which will be significant in future collaboration.
