「NTU-MST Welcome Party」 was held on 9/18
Last September 18, 2020, the Molecular Science and Technology Program, Taiwan International Graduate Program, Academia Sinica, and International Graduate Program of Molecular Science and Technology, National Taiwan University, Taiwan warmly welcome the new TIGP-MST Ph.D. students. This was held at the Dr. Poe Lecture Hall, IAMS at around 4:20 in the afternoon. Senior MST and professors also extended their warm welcome by attending the program.
The TIGP coordinator, Professor Ming-Shien Chang, the IAMS director, Prof. Kuei-Hsien Chen, gave their inspiring and challenging opening remarks. Moreover, the NTU-MST program director, Professor Chunwei Chen, gave his encouraging welcome messages to the nine students. To show their support and encouragement, TIGP-MST Alumni, Dr. Tze-Wei Liu, and Dr. Monika Kataria shared their experiences and pieces of advice to have a meaningful and fruitful Ph.D. journey.
These new students also had their chance to introduce themselves and their hometown personally; hence, the audience could get to know them. Six of these students (Ding-Rui Chen, Hao-Ting Chin, Yi-Shan Wu, Chih-Ying Huang, Somboon Fongchaiya, and Philip Anggo Krisbiantoro) are under NTU-MST, two students (Wei-Chien Weng, and Deepak Vishnu Solai Kumaresh) are under NTHU-Chemistry, and one student (Kai-I Chu) is under NCU-Physics.
A picture taking was happily taken after the program, which opens an amiable atmosphere during the dinner session. Students, old and new, had a chance to personally talk with the professors during the dinner.
