The Taiwan International Graduate Program at Academia Sinica (TIGP@AS) welcomes their new Ph.D. students from 13 different nations- India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Yemen. This welcome party was held at the International Conference Hall last October 20, 2020, from 6-7:30 pm. President James C. Liao, Vice-President Mei-Yin Chou, and TIGP Founding Director, Professor Sunney I. Chen gave their welcome remarks as the welcome party started. Group photos and photo booth and props were enjoyed as well during the registration. The senior Ph.D. students entertain the new students with their intermissions numbers. The traditional game - the best traditional outfit -of every TIGP@AS welcome party was still there and added in the party's fun. Also, each new student was given a chance to greet their fellow students in their mother language. The 121 participants of this welcome party-from distinguished professors, the TIGP officers to the students, old and new, obeys the protocol of the COVID19 prevention. All of them wear a mask, and the social distancing was properly observe. But despite these, the party was successful and fun. All of the participants leave the party with their sumptuous dinner take away.
